Reading
Children should be reading daily for at least 10 -15 minutes a day.
Please do discuss the story with your child in order to check their understanding.
What might happen next?
How do you think the character is feeling? Why do you think that?
What happened in the story?
Can you find a word that means the same as ............?
What is the definition of .........? If you don't know, can you find it in the dictionary?
Did you enjoy the story? Why?
Have you read a different story that has similar themes in to this story?
Remember to refer back to the text when answering the questions.
Reading books will be changed every Friday. Please ensure that your child's books and 'Children's Reading Record' book are in their bag in order for the books to be changed. We have a record of the books that your child has been given. You can write the title of the books in your child’s reading record book and please remember to sign it once they have read their books in order for the books to be changed.
Homework
English- Independent writing task
To write the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears using capital letters, finger spaces, full stops, conjunctions (and, but, so, because) and adjectives. They can also include meanwhile, a little while later, after that and any other adventurous vocabulary of their choice. Allow the children to write independently.
This homework does not need to be handed in until Wednesday 9th July.
PSHE- To bring in a baby photo of themselves by Wednesday 24th June.

Practise logging in and complete chosen activities.
Spellings
The children will be given their spellings on a Friday and they will be tested on the following Thursday. The children will be tested on Thursday 18th June 2026.
The group your child is in has been written on the front cover of their spelling books. Please do not write in the spelling books. They are only to be used for the TEST.

REMINDER-We have a record of the books that your child has been given. You can write the title of the books in your child’s reading record book and please remember to sign it once they have read their books in order for the books to be changed.
